The Responsible Citizenship Retreat, held at Snowbird each October, is a dynamic, interactive event for students, AmeriCorps members, and VISTA members.
Attendees participate in a series of activities and discussions designed to deepen their understanding of civic responsibility and how they can make an impact in their communities. Experienced facilitators provide participants with a safe environment to respectfully discuss potentially controversial issues and teach them effective advocacy strategies. The facilitators also guide participants through a project-planning process that helps them analyze the issues underlying their humanitarian activities so that these service activities are more meaningful.
Special thanks to the Utah Commission on Volunteers for providing funding support for the 2011 retreat!
