VISTA Campus-Community Outreach Project
The Campus-Community Outreach Project is an AmeriCorps*VISTA program sponsored by the Corporation for National and Community Service. This three-year project (2009-2012) places VISTAs at partnering colleges/universities in Utah, where they focus on leveraging campus resources to meet poverty-related community needs. Sites include the Volunteer & Service-Learning Center at Utah Valley University, the Community Writing Center and Thayne Center for Service & Learning at Salt Lake Community College, and the Community Involvement Center and Education Access and Outreach office at Weber State University.

UCAN Serve AmeriCorps
UCAN Serve is a part-time AmeriCorps program with 37 participating sites in Utah, Colorado, Arizona and New Mexico. The program engages students in meaningful service in the areas of education, public health and safety, and community strengthening. After successfully completing their terms of service, students receive an educational award.

Annual Recognition Awards
At this event, which takes place in April, Utah Campus Compact honors the work of outstanding faculty, staff, students, and community partners at member institutions statewide.

Conference on Civic Engagement
The Conference on Civic Engagement, held each year in February, provides an opportunity for faculty and professional staff to present on their work, network, and learn about best practices from other colleagues.

Student Leadership Retreat
Each May, Utah Campus Compact organized a leadership retreat for students across the state, giving them the opportunities to sharpen their civic leadership skills and to network with each other.

Professional Development Opportunities
Utah Campus Compact offers a variety of other professional development opportunities throughout the year.

 

Committees

Campus Service Directors Committee
This group is comprised of professional staff and faculty who oversee service initiatives at their institutions.

Faculty Development Network
The Faculty Development Network consists of representatives from each member institution; their focus is to provide faculty with statewide collaboration and exchange of information and best practices connections.

Steering Committee
Steering Committee members are selected by their presidents and serve as a liaison to their president and institution; they also participate in an advisory capacity in helping Utah Campus Compact achieve its strategic goals.

UCAN Serve Coordinators Committee
This committee includes all UCAN Serve AmeriCorps coordinators in the state.
